The CEO and Founder of DAQVAH CHARITY FOUNDATION officiated Jum’ah at Masjid Raheem, Bath Street, Brookfields.

Officiating Jum’ahs at different Masjids (Mosques) across the country is one of the strategies used by the foundation to raise more awareness about the Reach The Unreachable With Just One Dollar ($1) Per Year Project; a project which was officially launched at the Freetown Amusement Park, April this year.

Friday July 27, 2018, the CEO and founder, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Jalloh who doubles as the Imam discussed on the topic: “Attaining Righteousness Through Generosity”.

During his first part of the sermon, the CEO stated a verse from the Glorious Qur’an which states “You will not attain righteousness, until you spend that which you love”. He narrated a story of a rich man whose son was surprised to see thousands of people attending his funeral. Upon enquiry, he was told different stories of how his father has impacted the lives of those people through charity; some he helped to get wedded and others he helped to perform hajj. He explained that Sierra Leone would have been a beautiful place to live if only the rich were generous.

He continued by highlighting problems which are caused by lack of generosity; high illiteracy rate, inadequate safe drinking water especially at the provinces, poor health facility and lots more. He further emphasized that if all of us were generous, that generosity would contribute emensely towards Islamic and National development.

During the last part of his sermon, the CEO briefly stated the background of the RTU project and further stated that the project through the of power of Allah will solve major problems highlighted during the first part of the sermon.

He concluded by encouraging the congregation to embrace the project, as the project is here to serve as the Baitul Mal (Bank of the Muslims) of our time and that the project will not only be as a benefit for the Muslim community but the general populace of our beloved country Sierra Leone.
