On the 4th of November 2018, DAQVAH Charity Foundation as part of its fundraising strategies held its 3rd Annual Fundraising Dinner and Awards at the Kpakpa Aberdeen Muslim Praying Grounds. This event hosted about 400 invitees who in one way or the other contributed towards the goal of the event.
In an exclusive interview with the head of the Fundraising Committee, Nyallay Rogers, she said that one of the sources of income of the foundation, is the Annual Fundraising Dinner, which for the past two years have helped raised funds to undertake some of their charity projects. The First Annual Fundraising Dinner in October 2016 at the Kona Lodge was initiated to help provide a water well for people at the Mabain Community in Port Loko District.
She further stated that the just concluded Annual Fundraising Dinner was initiated to help raise additional funds to complete the DAQVAH Mansofinia Junior Secondary school in Masofinia town, Falaba district which she said some funds were already raised last year that was used to initiate the Project. She ended by saying that the children within that community were deprived and that providing school for them will help them, their families and the community greatly.
Sheikh Farouq Adam Bah a renowned Scholar who served as the guest speaker of the event said that DAQVAH Charity Foundation has inspired him a lot and he will remain committed to the programs and activities of the Foundation, because their plan is to reach out to the poor and needy which is also a command of Allah. He stressed on the need to reach out to the vulnerable children at Falaba and ended by making financial pledge towards the project.
The CEO & Founder Alhaji Abdul Rahman Jalloh said that he felt happy for the love and concern Muslims are showing towards reaching the vulnerable in society. He called on everyone to come on board to give their support towards completing the school project in Falaba, a deprived district. He further extended his gratitude and appreciation to all those who attended the dinner, and to all those who played key roles in ensuring that the dinner was a successful event.
