A team of 21 DAQVAH staff and volunteers has on Sunday 26th May, officially received from the Paramount Chief of Kaffu Bullom Cheifdom, Lungi a 4.8 acres of land document bearing the name of DAQVAH Charity Foundation.
Honorable Paramount Chief, Bai Shebora Sheba Gbereh III before handing over the document said that many would find it unbelievable that he has offered the foundation such a huge piece of land at no cost because he said, many people believe in money rather than development. “I gave this land because I believe in your dream and I strongly believe in young people. I believe that this land would serve as sadaqatul jariah (continuous charity) for my late parents as that’s the best I can do for them at this time,” he said. He added that he hoped the foundation will prioritize the project and make it a sustainable one.
The CEO and Founder, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Jalloh on behalf of the foundation thanked the Paramount Chief for what he described as a kind and laudable venture. He assured that the PC that the foundation and all it members would work towards actualizing the trust that has been placed on them. “The National Islamic Park would provide a recreation space and a resource center for Muslims, which will be strictly income generation. It will also host the foundation’s Head Quarter, Orphanage Home, Training Center etc.” he added. He stated that the project would be officially launched this year and that work is hopeful to start effective next year.
The Executive Director, Mariam Sedik Kamara said that she was overwhelmed on the PC’s generosity in donating a land which is a treasure to him. “I want to assure you that you will not bow your head in shame or regret but that we will all meet in Jannah (paradise) and we would greet and thank each other for creating opportunities for easy access of our entrance into Jannah,” she ended.
Mohammed Maladho Jalloh, the Deputy RTU Project Lead said that what the Chief has done will go a long way in promoting the credibility of the foundation and that many others would also follow his footsteps.
The handing over of the document was done by the Paramount Chief together with the Surveyor Mr. Saheed and the team moved towards the site at Gbokoh community.
DAQVAH is thanking all members who donated to secure all the documents of the land. DAQVAH is calling on all Sierra Leoneans to make this dream of a National Islamic Park, a reality.
