By Ayoub Joaque

On Friday 25th April 2020, which marks the first day of the holy month of Ramadan, DAQVAH Charity Foundation distributed bags of rice, bundles of water and cash to 28 households at MASHEKA Village, Maconteh chiefdom, Port Loko district.

Speaking on behalf of the foundation, Bro. Ayoub Joaque informed beneficiaries that the items donated were part of the foundation’s every year support to vulnerable communities during Ramadan to help reduce the suffering of Muslims while fasting. He continued that it was not the first time the foundation has been donating in the Chiefdom as he cited similar donations that were made sometimes ago in Mabain and Koya community. He asked the beneficiaries to continue to pray for Allah’s blessing upon all those that are contributing to the foundation to make such donations possible.

The Head man of the community, Abdul Raman Kamara thanked the foundation on behalf of his people for the donation. He continued that the donation came at the right time as most people were contemplating on how to start fasting because of the present economic situation of his people. He furthered that, his people are finding it very difficult to make ends meet even before Ramadan not to talk of Ramadan as they cannot access the Luma which was serving as a source of getting their livelihood.

The Imam of the town, Sheik Adikalie K Kamara thanked Allah and the foundation for the donation which he says would now give them the strength to continue with the fasting. He concluded by appealing to the foundation to continue to remember with other support and especially for the completion of their community Mosque which the foundation started constructing over a year ago.

A female house hold head, Adamsay Kamara thanked the foundation for considering them during this difficult times as they were not expecting such gesture. She continued that she was not ready to fast as she was finding it difficult to get food to break the fast. She prayed that Allah provides more for the foundation.

Another beneficiary who is physically challenged, Santigie Kamara praised the foundation for the donation stating that without this support he would have not involved in fasting as he had no one to provide for him and his family. He prayed that Allah continue to touch the heart of all those that donated to the foundation so that they continue to support the foundation. Special prayers were offered for the foundation to climax the program.
