On the 4th day of Ramadan, over 50 widows from the Cry of Widows Association at Waterloo, benefited from the distribution of bags of rice, bundles of water and cash donations from the DAQVAH Charity Foundation Ramadan Feeding program.

The CEO and Founder, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Jalloh said that there was no need for introduction since the association is already a partner to DAQVAH as they have benefited from DAQVAH’s Ramadan donations for the last 5 years. However, he said that he appreciated Sheikh Sahid Bangura for bringing the widows together and engaging them islamically. He further said that DAQVAH is working to establish a vocational Center where the widows will learn skills and introduce interest free micro finance. He added that at the end of the training, they will be given tailoring machines and seed money to start up their businesses for sustainability. He encouraged the widows to be steadfast and keep praying for the foundation.

Shiekh Sahid Bangura, the founder of Cry of Widows Association expressed his heartfelt appreciation and thank the foundation for being supportive over the last five years. He informed the widows that the foundation has been supporting his organisation since its establishment in Kenema.

Nancy A Kamara, a widow said that she is happy and appreciated the donations as it was timely. “I was wondering how to get food for Iftar today as the cost of rice is very expensive. Now, my heart is filled with joy and I feel like dancing to show appreciation, but we are not permitted to dance in the Masjid, but I have danced in my heart in appreciation,” she expressed her joy. She thanked the donors and prayed for continued support, she concluded.
