On the day of Arafat, Saturday 15th June, 2024, Muslims drawn from different Masjids located at ABC Building, Malama Thomas Street, City Council, Rawdon Street and WMA Masjids benefitted packs of jollof rice, water and drinks donation from DAQVAH Foundation Arafat Caravan Feeding program.
The purpose of this distribution according to the Programs Manager, Yussouf A. Jalloh is to provide iftar for Muslims “who will find it difficult” to get food during the time of breaking fast. “Many Muslims would have found it difficult going home to break their fast or have extra cash to buy delicious food and therefore, providing prepared packages of food, drinks and water will go a long way in helping them to break their fast with ease,” said Jalloh.

The funders of this project are those who participated in the Arafat Feeding Campaign that targeted Muslims to donate at least SLE 30.00 to feed a fasting person on the blessed day of Arafat.

Recipients were happy to receive the food packages as they thanked the donors, praying for continued support. “This is amazing and I pray you continue such support as most of us are finding it difficult to break our fast during this time” Ibrahim Conteh, one of the beneficiaries at Rawdon Street Masjid said. “As I made supplications this morning I prayed and asked Allah that the foundation will reach us this year with this same delicious food as they did last year. Alhamdulilah! when I saw the food I smiled as I knew Allah responded to my dua,” said Aminata Tunkara a beneficiary at ABC masjid.
The distribution ended successfully with lots of prayers from the beneficiaries in all the five locations.
