DAQVAH Charity Foundation Donates 100 Million Old Leones to FBC Muslim Jamaat for Masjid Reconstruction

Mount Aureole, Sierra Leone – in a generous display of community support and services render to Muslims, the DAQVAH Charity Foundation handed over a donation of 100 million old Leones to the Fourah Bay College Muslim Jamaat to aid in the reconstruction of their Masjid. The ceremony took place on Friday 15th of November 2024, marking a significant contribution towards the preservation and enhancement of the community’s spiritual space.

Alhaji Abdul Rahman Jalloh, the esteemed CEO and Founder of DAQVAH Charity Foundation, expressed the motivation behind the donation noting that as a former president of the Jama’at he felt obliged to raise funds for the reconstruction project and that was why the foundation dedicated its 9th Annual Fundraising Dinner to the project. He emphasized the foundation’s commitment to supporting community projects that promote spiritual and social development. “We believe in the importance of constructing and preserving a masjid, our religious heritage. This donation is our way of giving back to a community that nurtures the faith and education of future generations,” Mr. Jalloh stated. He ended by thanking all donors of the 9th Annual Fundraising Dinner especially the highest donors, Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Koroma & Alhaji Abu Bakarr Mubarak Bah.

Representing the foundation’s board members, Abdallah Malik Sesay Esq. formally presented the cheque to the FBC Muslim Jamaat. In his remarks, Lawyer Abdallah highlighted the foundation’s dedication to supporting educational institutions and religious projects. “DAQVAH has always stood by the principle of uplifting the needy and supporting community growth. This contribution is a testament to our ongoing commitment to these values,” he remarked.

Dr. Mohamed Koroma, head of Maths & Statistics Department FBC, received the cheque on behalf of the FBC Muslim Jamaat. In his address, he expressed profound gratitude to DAQVAH for their substantial donation. “We are deeply appreciative of DAQVAH’s continuous support. Their credibility and dedication to philanthropy are beyond question, and this generous act will greatly aid in the reconstruction of our Masjid,” Dr. Koroma noted. He further praised the foundation for its consistent efforts in assisting the needy and poor.

The event concluded successfully with expressions of joy and gratitude from all attendees. Prayers were offered for the continued success and prosperity of DAQVAH and its members, recognizing their unwavering support for the community.
