DAQVAH Charity Foundation Paid Courtesy Visit to the Port Loko District Director of Education

On December 10th, 2024, the DAQVAH Charity Foundation met with the District Director of Education in Port Loko District, Alpha Bangura to introduce the foundation and it work supporting education in the region over the last 9 years. The meeting was led by Alhaji Abdul Rahman Jalloh, the founder and CEO of DAQVAH, who began by praising and thanking Allah and expressing gratitude to the DD for his warm welcome.

The CEO introduced the DAQVAH team and provided a brief history of the foundation. He stated that DAQVAH since its establishment in 2015 with just 42 members, has grown to over 5000 members across 20 countries worldwide. He highlighted the foundation’s focus areas, including support for orphans and widows, education, water and sanitation, and Muslim services.

He informed the DD that to support education, DAQVAH has established the DAQVAH Islamic Academy in one of the remote communities in Mabain. Mr. Jalloh emphasized the importance of this school, noting that it is the only secondary school in Mabain and serves 11 other villages. He requested the District Director’s assistance in expediting the approval process to ensure the school can operate officially and continue providing much-needed education to the area.

The District Director of Education, Alpha Bangura thanked the DAQVAH team for their visit and praised their efforts in supporting education. He acknowledged the government’s limitations and appreciated the foundation’s initiative in filling these gaps. He expressed his support for the project and commended DAQVAH for their charitable work. “Supporting people to be educated is amazing, and as a Muslim, I support this idea and commend your charity work. Let’s keep fingers crossed and see how things unfold, as there are a lot of things that come with school approval,” he concluded.

The meeting ended successfully with both parties optimistic about the future collaboration. The event was marked by a photo session and numerous expressions of gratitude and prayers for the foundation’s continued success.
