On December 22, 2024, at the Mena Hills Hotel, Makeni, DAQVAH annual retreat in Makeni started with I nsightful sessions focused on updates and reflections, setting a productive tone for the days ahead.

The day kicked off with an innovative introduction of staff members, setting clear retreat expectations and establishing group rules. This creative approach helped foster a sense of unity among the participants.

The focus then shifted to individual and foundation goals for 2025 fiscal year. Staff provided updates on their personal aspirations for 2024 and shared their visions for 2025. The session also included a comprehensive review of the 2024 work plan, ensuring that all objectives were clearly understood and aligned.

Unit heads presented detailed annual reports, reflecting and highlighting their achievements and challenges over the past year. These reports provided valuable insights into each unit’s performance, achievements and areas for improvement.

A postmortem of the DAQVAH Family Fun-Fair Event and School Pack Project was conducted, examining the successes and shortcomings of these initiatives. This critical analysis aimed at learning from past experiences to enhance future events.

The day concluded with a focus on unit stop gaps, where each unit assessed its current equipment, qualifications, and needs. This evaluation aimed to identify any gaps and develop strategies to address them moving forward.
