DAQVAH Ramadan Caravan Support Communities in Need

Yesterday, 7th of Ramadan which coincided with the 7th March, the DAQVAH Caravan which is done every Jumuah was back on the streets and in the Masjids within the central business district, distributing packs of deliciously prepared meals, along with water and soft drinks to aid those who might struggle to secure something for iftar during the busy rush hours of the evening. This initiative continues to reflect DAQVAH’s mission to ensure no one goes without during this holy month.

DAQVAH Ramadan Caravan successfully reached out to communities in need by implementing a feeding initiative across three locations in Freetown: Garrison Street, Rawdon Street Masjid Umar Bin Khatab, and Malama Thomas Street Masjid Salam. This compassionate effort benefited 250 fasting Muslims, providing them with essential resources to break their fast.

According to DAQVAH’s Programs Manager, Yussouf Abass Jalloh, this vital work is made possible through the generosity of the Muslim community. “We ask Muslims to donate just Le 50 to feed a fasting person, and in return, we ask for nothing but prayers for our donors,” he explained.

As part of their broader efforts, DAQVAH invites individuals to participate in the Empty Bowl Challenge by donating to 076363131 or 090363131. The foundation promises endless rewards for those who contribute to this meaningful course.
