DAQVAH Extends Ramadan Feeding Support to IPAM, COMAHS, and UNIMTECH
By Fatimah Bah

DAQVAH Charity Foundation continued its annual Ramadan Empty Bowl Feeding Program by making donations to the Muslim Jamaats of the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS) in Kossoh Town, and University of Management and Technology (UNIMTECH), all located in Freetown. The Foundation donated bags of rice, bundles of water, and cash to aid the observance of Ramadan by university students.

Addressing the Jamaats during the presentation, DAQVAH’s Programs Manager, Yussouf Abass Jalloh, emphasized that the organization has a longstanding history of supporting university students during Ramadan. He explained that the initiative is funded by contributions from Muslims who are encouraged to donate as little as Le 50 to help feed fasting individuals.
Representatives from the beneficiary institutions expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s continued support. Alimamy Turay, Public Relations Officer of UNIMTECH, acknowledged the challenges of providing for students, especially during Ramadan, and praised DAQVAH for their unwavering assistance.

“This is not just a one-time act of support. DAQVAH has consistently been there for us, and we deeply appreciate their efforts,” said Mohamed S. Turay, Coordinator of the COMAHS Muslim Jamaat.
Hamidu Bah, Imam of IPAM, speaking on behalf of the executive and the Muslim Jamaat, extended heartfelt thanks to DAQVAH. He highlighted the challenges faced by fasting students, many of whom come from distant locations and rely on the meals prepared on campus to break their fast. “The donations have greatly eased the burden for the 200-300 students who break their fast here daily,” he noted.

As Ramadan enters its final days, DAQVAH continues to encourage the public to contribute towards this noble cause. Donations can be made via the following numbers: 076363131 or 090363131. Together, the Foundation and its supporters aim to ensure that no fasting person goes hungry during this blessed month.
