As Friday marked the 2nd day of fasting and the first Jumuah of the Blessed Month of Ramadan, 150 Muslims on board vehicles at Bombay Street and Jui Junction benefited from the distribution of packs of rice, water and drinks donations from the DAQVAH Charity Foundation Caravan Feeding program.

The purpose of this distribution, as said by the Programs team, is to provide iftar for many needy Muslims who find it difficult to get food during the time of breaking fast because they are caught up in traffic. “Many would not have extra cash or the chance to buy food and therefore providing a prepared package of food, drinks and water wil go a long way in aiding them to break thier fast before reaching their destination,” said the Programs Manager, Yussuf Abass Jalloh.

The funders of this project are those who participated in the Empty Bowl Challenge that is targeting every Muslim to donate at least Le 30 to feed a fasting person during this blessed month of Ramadan.
Recipients were happy to recieve the food packages saying that breaking their fasts have been made easy. They thanked the donors and prayed for continued support.

The distribution was successful with lots of prayers from the beneficiaries in both locations.
