As Muslims witnessed the first Jumah of Ramadan, DAQVAH Charity Foundation implemented its usual Ramadan Caravan Feeding to Muslims in the streets of Freetown. 250 Muslims at Bombay Street and Bus station benefited from the distribution of packs of delicious meal, water and drinks donations.
The purpose of this distribution, as said by the Programs team, is to provide iftar for many needy Muslims who are either traders or workers who find it difficult to get food during the time of breaking fast. “Many would not have extra cash or the chance to buy food and therefore providing a prepared package of food, drinks and water wil go a long way in aiding them to break thier fast before reaching their destinations,” said the Programs Manager, Yussuf Abass Jalloh.

Recipients were happy to recieve the food packages. “This is a unique initiative and will help many of us who are unable to afford food to break out fast,” said on of the passengers. They thanked the donors and prayed for continued support.

The distribution ended successfully with lots of prayers from the beneficiaries in both locations.
The funders of this project are those who participated and contributed in the Empty Bowl Challenge that is targeting every Muslim to donate at least Le 40 to feed a fasting person during this blessed month of Ramadan.
