I just got off the phone with DAQVAH’s driver and he just updated me about the outcome of DAQVAH’s Free Ride. Alhamdulillah! For 4 Weeks now, the DAQVAH Charity Foundation has continued its Free Ride from Bombay Street to Waterloo every Friday from Fajr to Jumuah. When we resumed our transportation service, our passengers asked us, where we have been and expressed how much they missed our Every Friday Free Ride.

As a CEO, I’ve received calls from passengers who are blessing the foundation for doing something that they say is not done by any transport owner in Sierra Leone, West Africa and probably Africa as a whole. The commendations and prayers have been immense and we are grateful to Allah for granting us such opportunity to be the first organization in Sierra Leone to serve the people in such a way. And we are grateful to our committed subscribers who made this possible through their subscriptions and donations.

How it all started? Three years ago, when we decided to go into transportation business as an investment and a way to sustain the foundation, we were concerned about how do we SHOW instead of TELL people that we are an Islamic Charity Organization. It was then that the idea of introducing a Free Ride once in a month emerged. When we did the first free ride, Subhanallah! The responses we had were overwhelming, a passenger said to us that we should be recognized in the World’s Guinness Book of Record . I then told my staff, we would loss nothing by making this Free Ride once in every two weeks and then the appreciation and prayers from passengers keep increasing and so we decided to do a weekly Free Ride and Alhamdulillah we used to have 3 vehicles covering both East and West and the impact has been great. We are trying to increase our vehicles and serve more people.
