DAQVAH Charity Foundation on the eleventh day of Ramadan donated bags of rice, bundles of water and cash to Muslims of the Ernest Bai Koroma University and the University of Makeni.

Yussouf Abass Jalloh, the Programs Manager, during the presentation, introduced the team and informed the students that DAQVAH is in their universities to give support to Muslim students in observing the blessed month of Ramadan.

The Executive and Finance Director, Mariatu Sedik Kamara, informed the students that part of what the foundation do is to give support to University Muslim Jamaat both in and out of Freetown. “Our faces might be strange but the name DAQVAH rings a bell, as we have been supporting UNIMAK over the years and for EBK this is our first time,” she added. She emphasized on the need to support Muslims especially students who have left their various homes coming from different parts of the country leaving their parents to study. “We have also went through university and we know the challenge out of Ramadan not to mention fasting in Ramadan. All we ask of you, is to make lots of prayers for our donors as after Allah without their support, this would not have been possible,” she ended.

Speaking on behalf of the students, Tejan Ibrahim Bangura, Chief Imam for the Ernest Bai Koroma Muslim Jamaat appreciated the foundation for coming to their rescue, adding that they have been struggling to feed since the start of Ramadan. “Words cannot express how much we appreciate DAQVAH for the donated items and we will continue to make lots of prayers for the foundation. Should you need any help be it human resource or whatever, our doors and windows are open at all times to the foundation”, he concluded.

The board member for the University of Makeni, Ibrahim Sesay, thanked DAQVAH for the donated items and for supporting their university as this is not the first time they are receiving donations from the foundation. “We ask Allah to continue to provide for you and those supporting you” Ibrahim Sesay mention.
