As part of its every year support to NPSE candidates, DAQVAH charity Foundation on Tuesday 30th April, 2024 donated examination materials to 150 NPSE candidates in three schools in Maforki chiefdom, Port Loko District.
Presenting the items to the candidates on behalf of the foundation, the focal person for the foundation in the district, Bro. Ayoub Joaque brings greetings from members of the foundation in Freetown, stating that the team would have loved to witness the distribution but they cannot due to busy schedules.

Bro. Ayoub Joaque informed the beneficiaries that DAQVAH has been providing similar support for the past years to schools in Maconteh and Bureh chiefdoms but decided to reach Maforki chiefdom this year as a way of reaching every community in need in the country.
He continued that the items such as mathematical sets, Pens, 2B pencils, sharpeners and erasers will help the candidates to write their exams with ease and avoid the stress of parents going extra miles to get these items for their children.

He emphasised the need for the candidates to make good use of the items as they are bought with monies donated by well meaning Sierra Leoneans as a way of charity.
At DEC primary school New Maforki Town, 74 candidates benefited, 16 at Baptist primary school, Petifu Sesay and 60 at RC primary school Babara and community primary school Magnarma all in Maforki chiefdom.
During the distribution at DEC primary school New Maforki Town, the Head Master of the school, Mr. Bangura thanked the foundation for the support stating that since he started teaching in the school for over 20 years, this is the very first time such thing is happening in his school.
He continued that with the current economic situation in the country, parents would have found it extremely difficult to buy these items for their children, he encouraged the parents to ensure that the children take good care of the items till Saturday the 4th of May when they will be writing the NPSE examination.

He concluded by asking the parents to offer prayers for the foundation and for all those that are supporting the foundation for Allah’s blessings so they can in-turn continue to support the foundation in order to reach more communities.
At Babara community, a community stakeholder, Mr. Bakarr Kanu thanked DAQVAH for considering his community.
He went on to say that parents were thinking of how to get these items for their children but believing in the work of Allah always make things easy.
He called on the foundation to concentrate in the chiefdom as it is also one of the most deprived chiefdoms in the district.
During the distribution at the Baptist primary school, Petifu Sesay, the Head teacher Mr. Kamara expressed his joy on receiving the items on behalf of his pupils, stating that DAQVAH is the very first organisation to provide examination materials to NPSE candidates in his school since its establishment.
He highlighted several challenges faced by the school ranging from the school not receiving subsidies, the water well not functioning to the community teachers not committed in delivering due to lack of incentives to motivate them.
The Head Boy of the school, Abu Bakarr Kamara on behalf of his colleagues thanked the foundation for the items and promised that they will use the items for the intended purpose.
He stated that the donation has motivated them to study harder in order to come out with flying colours. He concluded by asking parents to continue praying for the foundation for them to continue supporting the school.
