Yesterday, the DAQVAH Charity Foundation held a press conference at its office to officially launch the Ramadan Empty Bowl Challenge. In her opening remarks, Madam Bockarie highlighted the foundation’s significant contributions to national development and the Muslim community. She commended the CEO and his dedicated team for their relentless efforts in reaching out to those in need.

The Executive Finance Director, Mariatu Sedik Kamara, provided the background of the foundation, noting that DAQVAH started with just 47 members and has now grown to over 5,200 members across 19 countries worldwide. Mrs. Kamara also mentioned some key areas of intervention, including education, water and sanitation, and Muslim services.

Dr. Ahmed Ramadan Jalloh, who also serves as the Board Chairman, spoke about the importance of feeding during Ramadan. He emphasized the rewards of feeding a fasting person and encouraged everyone to support DAQVAH’s “Fill a Bowl, Feed a Soul” initiative this Ramadan. Dr. Ramadan Jalloh urged the Muslim community to come together to ensure that those who want to fast but cannot afford Suhur and Iftar are provided for.

The CEO, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Jalloh, read out the press statement, outlining the reasons behind the DAQVAH Ramadan Empty Bowl Challenge and how someone can participate. The press conference concluded with a Q&A session, where representatives from various media institutions posed their questions.

The event marks the beginning of DAQVAH’s efforts to ensure that no fasting Muslim goes hungry during Ramadan.
