
On Friday 15th April 2022, 250 Muslims at Wilberforce (Bottom Mango) and Goderich Street benefited from the distribution of packs of rice, tamar and drinks donations from the DAQVAH Charity Foundation Ramadan Caravan Feeding program.
This purpose of this distribution, as said by the project team, is to provide iftar for many needy Muslims who are either caught up in traffic or are struggling to get transportation during the time of breaking the fast. “Many would not have extra cash to buy food and therefore providing a prepared package of food, drinks and fruit will go a long way in aided them to break their fast before reaching their destination,” said the Project Manager, Yussouf A. Jalloh. The funders of this project as those who participated in the Empty Bowl Challenge that’s targeting Muslims to donate at least Le 30,000 to feed a fasting person in Ramadan.

Recipients were happy to receive the Ramadan food packages. They thanked the donors and prayed for continued support. “This is amazing and I pray you continue such support as most of us are finding it difficult to break our fast during this time trying to reach home, ” one of the passengers at Wilberforce noted.
