Portloko, Sierra Leone – December 12, 2025
Day Three of the DAQVAH Annual Retreat unfolded with a spirit of devotion, unity, and celebration.
Spiritual Beginning
The day commenced with Fajr sorlah, setting a tone of reflection and renewal. Participants were then inspired by an address from Reach the Unreachable Project Lead, Mohamed Alhassan Jalloh, who spoke on sincerity and striving in the path of Allah. His message reminded attendees of the importance of pure intentions and perseverance in service to faith and humanity.

Jumuah as a Family Tradition
After breakfast, the team prepared for Jumah prayer, a cornerstone of DAQVAH’s weekly strategy to raise awareness and strengthen bonds. Observing Jumah together in the province underscored the organization’s commitment to unity, as Friday remains the most blessed day of the week for believers.
Friendly Football Match

Following a communal lunch, the retreat shifted into a lively atmosphere at 3:50 pm. with a football match between the DAQVAH staff and DAQVAH Islamic Academy teachers in Portloko. Before kickoff, both teams prayed Asr, grounding the event in faith.
The match ended in triumph for the DAQVAH staff from Freetown, thanks to two decisive goals—one from Finance Officer Tashleem Abdul Sillah and another from Outreach Officer, Unisa Komba. Despite the competitive spirit, both teams departed in unity, capturing snapshots to commemorate the moment.
Evening Relaxation & Talent Showcase

As tradition dictates, the evening after Esha prayer was dedicated to the annual “chilling” session—a time for relaxation, fun, and showcasing hidden talents. The atmosphere brimmed with laughter, creativity, and camaraderie.
The night’s program was masterfully steered by Alhaji Abdul Rahman Jalloh, CEO and founder of DAQVAH, whose presence and energy elevated the gathering.
Day Three reflected DAQVAH’s balance of spirituality, community, and joy—reminding all participants that faith thrives not only in prayer but also in fellowship and shared experiences.
